The China Museum of Biological Products is the first industrial museum in China that displays the development of biological products. It is a nonprofit one open to the general public.
The museum serves as a health science popularization base of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and functions as a science popularization education base for youth, a patriotic education base, and a historical research base for Chinese biological products.
In May 2023, it was approved as a Scientist Spirit Education Base jointly announced by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.
Construction of the museum was completed in 2019 and the facility opened to the public in early November the same year. Covering an area of about 1,000 square meters, it consists of an entrance hall and five sections named Introduction, Century-Old History, National Pillar, Love and Responsibility, and Brilliant Future.
Through artifact exhibitions, immersive screenings, interactive experiences and scene restoration, the museum presents the extraordinary journey of China's biological product industry over the past century in an all-round way, as well as the wisdom and hard work of generations of Chinese workers engaging in the field.
It also showcases China's achievements in disease prevention and treatment and in safeguarding the health of the people over the past 100 years, especially over the past 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In addition, the museum provides an overview of the current status and future prospects of China National Biotec Group Company Limited.
Since its opening, the museum has hosted approximately 180 groups of visitors, including national leaders, government workers, employees of centrally administered State-owned enterprises, representatives of domestic and foreign media outlets, and primary and secondary school students, totaling around 3,700 people.
