China National Pharmaceutical Group Co Ltd (Sinopharm) has released Sinopharm Select Case Studies of Quality and Efficiency Enhancement through Project-based Management, a groundbreaking publication by China Financial and Economic Publishing House.
The book features a foreword by Chairman Bai Zhongquan and has General Manager Zhao Bingxiang and Chief Accountant Yang Shanhua as editors-in-chief. It is the first in China to scientifically explain the theoretical framework of project-based management for quality and efficiency enhancement while showcasing Sinopharm’s effective practices.

Project-based quality and efficiency enhancement is an innovative system introduced by Sinopharm to implement the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council’s special action on quality and efficiency improvement.
Since 2020, the group has spearheaded this initiative across its subsidiaries, achieving significant economic results. By defining theoretical principles, restructuring organizational models, integrating special assessments and reviewing exemplary cases, Sinopharm has mobilized all levels of the organization to embrace quality and efficiency enhancement.
From 2021 to 2023, the group and its subsidiaries implemented 5,070 projects under this framework, generating efficiency gains of 6.69 billion yuan ($921.13 million). To consolidate and share these achievements, the group curated 40 exemplary cases into the publication, spanning four categories: revenue growth, cost reduction, quality improvement and innovation.
With contributors ranging from general managers, deputy general managers and financial directors to frontline workshop managers, planners and engineers, the book reflects the collective wisdom and contributions of Sinopharm employees.
