Sinopharm recently organized a series of international academic exchange events on the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease, gathering experts from China and Spain to discuss advances in clinical practice, multidisciplinary interventions and international cooperation.

The events were jointly organized by Sinopharm subsidiaries, including Sinopharm Tiantan and Sinopharm Healthcare. Specialists from the ACE Alzheimer's Center Barcelona, the Chinese Ethnic Health Association, the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine and leading medical institutions — including Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Ruijin Hospital and Huashan Hospital — participated in the events.

The series of events saw an international symposium on multidisciplinary interventions for Alzheimer's disease and an academic exchange meeting on neurology held in Beijing on July 3.

On July 4 to 5, multidisciplinary team meetings were organized in Beijing and Shanghai — focusing on early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, emerging therapeutic approaches and the clinical application of blood-derived therapies.

During the exchanges, experts from the ACE Alzheimer's Center Barcelona shared their experience in the management of Alzheimer's disease centers, evidence from albumin replacement therapy studies and plans for future clinical research, including the collection of real-world data.

Chinese specialists presented clinical practices and treatment experiences from hospitals across the country.

Through discussions based on clinical data and multicenter research, participants explored the potential clinical value of albumin and intravenous immunoglobulin in Alzheimer's disease intervention. They exchanged views on developing standardized diagnosis and treatment approaches tailored to China's healthcare system.

According to the organizers, the events also strengthened communications between Chinese hospitals and the ACE Alzheimer's Center Barcelona. Moreover, they provided a platform for continued academic exchanges and international collaborations in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders among older adults.

Around 300 representatives from Sinopharm, medical institutions and academic organizations attended the series of events.
