Updated:2026-10-19

The 27th Annual General Meeting of the Geneva-based Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network, known for short as DCVMN, opened in Beijing on Sept 22.

Centering on the theme of "Transforming Innovation into Immunization", the general meeting brought together representatives from leading international organizations. These included representatives of the World Health Organization, the global Vaccine Alliance Gavi and UNICEF — along with vaccine manufacturers, regulatory authorities and research platforms from over a dozen countries worldwide.

Discussions focused on core topics such as vaccine innovations and translations, production capacity building, quality control, global vaccine equity and accessibility, and the enhancement of local manufacturing capabilities in developing nations.

Prior to the meeting, Sinopharm CNBG Chairman Liang Hongjun met in Beijing with a delegation from DCVMN, including Chair of the Board Iin Susanti, CEO Rajinder Kumar Suri and members of the board of directors.

The two sides reviewed Sinopharm CNBG's collaborative journey as a founding member of DCVMN and its working alongside the network and fellow member organizations to advance the vaccine industry across developing nations and to support global immunization initiatives. Both parties expressed their commitment to leveraging the DCVMN platform to further deepen practical cooperation and to jointly contribute to global public health security.

On the opening day of the general meeting, Sinopharm CNBG Vice President Li Xiuling was invited to attend the CEO Roundtable Forum. She was joined by representatives of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and major vaccine enterprises from various countries and regions — including Brazil, India, Africa and South Korea.

Li shared Sinopharm CNBG's practices and insights on such topics as pandemic preparedness, paradigm shifts in vaccine R&D, and global health equity. In her speech, Li pointed out that to tackle the challenges of future pandemics, traditional capacity-reserve models needed to be expanded. She suggested extending preparedness beyond manufacturing capacity to include data and knowledge reserves, thereby comprehensively enhancing emergency response capabilities.

She added that Sinopharm CNBG is willing to work closely with DCVMN member partners to jointly build a robust defense line for global public health, promote vaccines to benefit more people in developing countries — and to practice the vision of a global community of health for all.

During the general meeting, Sinopharm CNBG was invited to participate in a themed dialogue on pandemic preparedness and response. It engaged in in-depth exchanges with international organizations as well as vaccine enterprise representatives from various countries and regions — focusing on topics including pandemic preparedness, vaccine R&D and production, and global equity and accessibility.

During the event, representatives of a number of international organizations and vaccine enterprises visited Sinopharm CNBG's affiliated entities for exchanges.
