  • In 1982, China National Pharmaceutical Foreign Trade Corporation, or Sinopharm Foreign Trade, collaborated with the American company Bristol-Myers Squibb to establish Sino-American Shanghai Squibb Pharmaceuticals Ltd, the first Sino-US pharmaceutical joint venture in China.

  • In 1982, Sinopharm Foreign Trade partnered with Pharmacia & Upjohn Company to establish Sino-Swed Pharmaceutical Corp Ltd, the world’s first Sino-Swedish joint venture.

  • The joint venture signing ceremony for Sino-American Shanghai Squibb Pharmaceuticals Ltd took place in May 1982, marking the establishment of the first Sino-US pharmaceutical joint venture after China's reform and opening-up.

  • On Sept 15, 1982, Sinopharm Foreign Trade collaborated with Pharmacia & Upjohn Company to establish Sino-Swed Pharmaceutical Corp Ltd, the world’s first Sino-Swedish joint venture.

  • China National Biological Products Corporation was established in 1989. In the same year, the Beijing Institute of Biological Products took the lead in introducing the industrial production technology for hepatitis B vaccines made by recombinant DNA techniques in yeast from US pharmaceutical company Merck.

  • A photo taken in 1997 shows employees inspecting the operation of equipment in a cephalosporin workshop in the early days of the Jiading production base of Shanghai Shyndec Pharmaceutical Ltd, the predecessor of Shanghai Shyndec Pharmaceutical Co Ltd.

  • On Oct 22, 1997, Chongqing Taiji Industry (Group) Co Ltd achieved a successful public offering of 50 million A-shares.

  • On May 18, 1998, Beijing Tiantan Biological Products Co Ltd was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

  • On Aug 15, 1998, Chongqing Taiji Industry (Group) Co Ltd dispatched 41 employees to support the flood control and disaster relief work in Jingzhou city, Hubei province.

  • In November 2002, Sinopharm Holding was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

  • In 2003, Vietnam-China Pharmaceutical Co Ltd was established in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was the first pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprise established by China in Vietnam.

  • On Jan 16, 2003, Sinopharm Holding held a plaque unveiling ceremony at the Westin Bund Center Shanghai.

  • In June 2004, Shanghai Shyndec Pharmaceutical Co Ltd was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

  • Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions was established in August 2005.
